Resting Bolshoi ballerina

Linoleum cut print 30x40cm

This is one of my early lino-cuts that I made around 1975, when I was still in college.
I made in total some 30 prints and I had the chance to find a copy when I recently visited my sister.
I found at that time a photo of a resting ballerina from the Bolshoi theater in an old copy of the National Geographic magazine.
It is rather simplistic in execution, but I still like a lot the result, especially the play with light and shadows. It still is one of my favorite linos!
